Crab Routee

Nina's Crab Routee on a plate

Best thing I ever tasted!


1 dozen fresh crabs
8 ounces olive oil
2 sticks butter
32 ounces water
1/2 cup garlic powder
1/2 cup onion powder
1/2 cup parsley flakes
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon white pepper

Cooking some Crab Routee


You must start by cleaning the crabs. Remove the top shells with an oyster knife and clean out all the soft tissue. Then, crack the crabs in half.

 Combine all the ingredients and bring to a boil. Add the uncooked cracked crabs (fresh uncooked crabs or frozen gumbo crabs are fine). Mix the crabs and sauce together, cover and boil for 30 minutes.

Serve in a bowl with sauce on top. Mmm, mmm, mmm!!
