This can be a delicious meal or an appetizer!
INGREDIENTS FOR CRAB MEAT STUFFED MUSHROOMS
1 16 ounce lump of crab meat
1 cup Italian bread crumbs
1 tablespoon lemon pepper
1 cup finely chopped sweet onion
4 ounces Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic
2 tablespoons butter
1 bunch green onion
2 tablespoons parsley
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CRAB MEAT STUFFED MUSHROOMS
Finely chop the onion, parsley, garlic and green onion. Saute in butter. Remove from heat. Add bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese and lemon pepper. Add crab meat and carefully toss into mixture. Do not over mix the crab meat, you want this to remain in chunks. Remove stems from mushrooms and stuff crab mixture firmly into the mushroom. In a large, flat baking pan, add 1/2 inch water. Place stuffed mushrooms in the dish and cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
While this is baking you can prepare the cream sauce.
INGREDIENTS FOR CREAM SAUCE
4 tablespoons heavy cream
1 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon Zatarain’s Creole Seasoning (Get your Zatarain’s HERE!)
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CREAM SAUCE
Combine all the ingredients and cook on medium heat. Dust with a small amount of flour if you want a thicker sauce, but not too much flour. Pour on top of of mushrooms and enjoy!
If you have any remaining crab mixture, you can make Crab Patties. Just pat the mixture in your hands much like making a hamburger but thicker. Coat in breadcrumbs and bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. And then serve!
