Banana Puddin’

A bowl of Banana Puddin'

My Grandma used to make this, and it’s an ole New Orleans favorite.

INGREDIENTS

4 cups sliced bananas
2 cups sugar
½ cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
6 cups whole milk
6 egg yolks
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 package vanilla wafers
Whipped cream

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine sugar, flour and salt in a saucepan and blend. Add egg yolks & whisk thoroughly for 15 minutes. You must whisk constantly for 15 minutes until thick. In a deep pan, layer the vanilla wafers, then sliced bananas, then the custard and repeat. When cool, add whipped cream to the top and refrigerate for 6-8 hours. Then serve!
