This is a WOW recipe. It’s a lot of bang for your buck! This whole dish doesn’t cost over $20 to make and will impress everyone.

Outside New Orleans and Louisiana, mirlitons might have a different name. In other parts of the United Stated and the world, you might know the mirliton as a ‘chayote’, ‘pear squash’ or ‘vegetable pear’. When you go to your grocery store, if they don’t have mirlitons they should be able to help you find it with one of the other names.

INSTRUCTIONS

A day before you plan to prepare your Crown Roast, ask your butcher to prepare a Crown Roast roast with a large center. This must be prepared by the butcher, and you must special order it before you need it. When you pick up the roast, sprinkle it with Zatarain’s Creole Seasoning in and out. Now, prepare the Mirliton Dressing. Click HERE for my Mirliton Dressing recipe. After you’ve made the dressing, fill the center of the roast with uncooked dressing. Cover the entire roast with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 3 hours. How easy is that? Wow!
